January Thru April: Sea Kayaking, Caffeine Crawl, Happy Time & More

Image
Me at the Moonlight Kayak adventure I went on with  my kayaking class earlier in the semester Hello friends! I hope all is well and that life is treating everyone good as can be and that everyone is healthy and safe during this pandemic.  I had written part of this blog post back in February but never got to posting it since I got super busy oops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But below I will indicate which parts were written in February and what was written in present day April.  What Should Have Been The February Update I went back to school in January for my second to last semester in undergrad! Which I'm actually kind of sad about. While I do complain about studying a LOT (and anyone that has ever spoken to me in person can attest to this) I genuinely love learning so it is saddening to me that I'm almost done. Speaking of complaining, my smart self decided to take 13 units of biology classes LOL. Will I survive? You guys will find out if I did in May. On top ...

New Year, New Post

Image
Hello Hello! I skipped the November  & December update, oops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it happens. But also January is nearing to an end so I might as well give you an update on how January went as well! But in regards to what happened in November, I finally became a Yelp Elite on Nov 18th yaaaaay. I even had the chance to go to my first Yelp Elite event in December after one of my finals. Not gonna lie, it was lowkey awkward at first since depending on the event, you can bring people or not. I ended up going alone to Shawarma Guys and it was soooo awk when I got there cuz I had no clue what to do. I legit showed up and just stood there and the lady asked me if I was waiting for someone and I was like “Uh, no I’m actually here for the Yelp Elite event” LOL. My email invite to the Yelp Elite Squad!                                 She ended up taking my order and not gonna lie, it was weird. Cuz S...

October 2019 Updates: Recap of my 22nd Birthday

Image
Weeeeellll.... October went by pretty quick.  It's going to be November in a week which is insane. Time has been going by extremely quick but I've made sure to try to make the little moments count most. So since I've last posted I turned 22, woo! This gif will basically be me until next September. Anyways, for my birthday I went to my favorite steakhouse, Fogo De Chao and afterwards and watched Men In Black at the Rooftop Cinema Club . Fogo De Chao is a Brazilian Steakhouse located in several areas in the United States, and lucky me, there is one in San Diego! While I do not like paying for parking, this is one of the few occasions that I don't mind since I'm going to one of my favorite restaurants. If you are a meat lover, this is definitely the place to go. They have a variety of high quality cuts of meat that are all you can eat for $38.95 (lunch) or $58.95 (dinner). Inside Fogo De Chao. Here is the market table which has a variety o...

September 2019 Updates

Image
Wow, so I haven't posted on this blog since March 2018 oops. First, I sincerely apologize about that. I've had a lot of life changing things happen since from being caught up in school, finding a new job, learning to cook a wider variety of foods, and even aging another year haha. But for now, hopefully I will at least try to post a blog once a month, since anything beyond at this point in time of my life would be insane. I recently became a ZipKick Influencer on August 6th! Now what does this mean? It means that I am apart of a global network of influencers of trusted foodies and travelers that pairs with brands in order to help grow and support businesses. As someone married to a business owner, I have realized the importance of wanting to grow a business, and the best way to do that is with influencers who are trusted in the community. I promise as an influencer to always give my honest opinions and I will not advocate something unless I truly stand by it. Now that...

Back to School Healthy Eating Habits

Now that college is back in session for everyone (I know it has been in session and I'm a little late but that is what happens when you're taking 17 units haha), you know what that means if you are a commuter, it is time to start packing lunch again! Packing lunch is not only a good way to save money, but it also has a huge impact on your health! Making sure to eat healthy meals with rigorous course work is very important in order to stay focused in school and earn the grades you want.  One of my favorite podcasts to listen to, The Joe Rogan Experience , featured Chris Kresser, an expert in functional medicine. Now what is functional medicine you may ask? It is changing one's lifestyle as a sort of treatment rather than going straight into taking medication. On episode #1037 of  The Joe Rogan Experience, Chris emphasized how what we eat had a big impact on our overall health. While this may seem obvious, people usually only think food helps us in terms of physical heal...
